The PMC-220-A6 Single-Phase Multifunction Energy Meter is designed for accurate power and energy monitoring in industrial, commercial, utility and building automation applications. Its compact 36 mm-wide DIN rail enclosure, large backlit LCD and direct-connected current input simplify installation and operation in space-limited electrical panels. The meter supports a nominal current of 5 A and a maximum current of 80 A without requiring an external current transformer.
It provides multifunction true RMS measurements of voltage, current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor and frequency. The meter also records imported, exported, total and net active and reactive energy, as well as apparent energy. Voltage and current measurement accuracy is ±0.5%, while active energy complies with IEC 62053-21:2020 and AS 62053.21:2023 Class 1, together with EN 50470-3 Class B.
For energy management and billing applications, the PMC-220-A6 supports two programmable TOU schedules, 12 seasons, 12 daily profiles, 14 periods per profile, 20 holidays or alternate days and five tariffs. It also provides monthly energy records, demand and maximum demand monitoring, daily and monthly freeze logs and ten programmable setpoints for alarm and monitoring functions.
The built-in SOE log stores up to 128 events with ±1 ms timestamp resolution. Recorded events can include configuration changes, setpoint operations, digital input status changes and overcurrent alarms. The advanced version adds 16 MB of non-volatile memory, two configurable data recorder logs, a battery-backed real-time clock, strong magnetic tamper detection and an optional digital input for status monitoring or WAGES pulse counting.
A standard optically isolated RS-485 port supports Modbus RTU communication at baud rates from 1,200 to 38,400 bps, enabling integration with SCADA, building management, factory automation and power and energy management systems. The meter also includes a front-panel LED pulse indicator and one solid-state energy pulse output selectable for kWh or kvarh applications.
