Product Details
The PMC-230 65A Single-Phase DIN Rail Energy Meter with UC2 Disconnect Relay is designed for accurate low-voltage energy metering, remote supply control and secure energy management. Its compact DIN rail enclosure combines multifunction electrical measurement, an internal disconnect relay, data recording and communication functions in a single device.
The meter supports a 5A nominal and 65A maximum direct-connected current input, eliminating the need for an external current transformer. It is self-powered from the measurement voltage and supports 220VAC, 230VAC and 240VAC single-phase systems, with an operating voltage range of 95–264VAC.
The PMC-230 measures voltage, current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, frequency and operating time. It also records imported and exported active energy, imported and exported reactive energy and apparent energy. Voltage and current measurement accuracy is ±0.5%, while active, reactive and apparent power accuracy is ±1.0%.
Active energy measurement complies with IEC 62053-21:2020 and AS 62053.21:2023 Class 1. The meter has also received approval from the Australian National Measurement Institute under NMI M13-1, with approval mark NMI 14/2/119, making it suitable for NMI-compliant energy management and sub-metering applications in Australia.
A key feature of the PMC-230 is its built-in UC2-compliant disconnect relay. The relay can disconnect or reconnect the downstream power supply either locally through the front-panel controls or remotely through communication commands. It has a maximum breaking and making capacity of 63A under the conditions specified in the Datasheet, with a typical response time of 20ms.
For multi-tariff energy management, the PMC-230 provides two programmable TOU schedules. Each schedule supports four seasons, 12 daily profiles, eight periods per daily profile, 30 holidays or alternate days and four tariffs. Each tariff records imported and exported active energy, imported and exported reactive energy and apparent energy.
Demand functions include present and maximum demand monitoring for voltage, current, active power, reactive power and apparent power. The meter also supports voltage and current THD monitoring, monthly energy records and ten programmable setpoints with configurable thresholds and time delays.
The built-in 4MB log memory supports one configurable data recorder with up to 16 parameters. Recording intervals can be configured from one second to 40 days, and the memory can store 16 parameters at five-minute intervals for more than six months. The meter also stores 12 historical monthly energy logs and up to 64 SOE events with ±1ms timestamp resolution when using firmware V2.00.02 or later.
Three self-excited digital inputs can be used for equipment status monitoring, pulse counting and tamper alarm detection. The digital inputs are internally wetted at 12VDC, provide a 1000Hz sampling rate and have a minimum hysteresis time of 1ms.
The meter includes one front-panel LED energy pulse output and one solid-state energy pulse output. A standard optically isolated RS-485 port supports Modbus RTU communication at speeds from 1,200 to 19,200bps, with configurable password protection for integration into SCADA, building automation, factory automation and energy management systems.
Typical applications include DIN rail energy metering, industrial and commercial sub-metering, utility substations, building and factory automation, process monitoring, tenant billing, cost allocation, remote supply control and NMI-compliant energy management systems.
