The PMC-352-D 3-Channel DC DIN Rail Energy Meter with Temperature Monitoring is a compact multifunction monitoring device developed for DC power distribution, energy management and equipment condition monitoring. With dimensions of only 36 × 65 × 90 mm, it is suitable for installation in space-limited DC distribution panels, charging equipment, data centers and industrial control cabinets. The meter is self-powered through its DC voltage input, simplifying wiring and reducing installation requirements.
The PMC-352-D provides one DC voltage input and three independent DC current inputs, forming three DC sub-metering channels. Each channel measures current, active power, active energy, current demand and power demand. This configuration allows a single compact device to monitor three DC feeders, charging circuits, inverter outputs or equipment branches simultaneously.
The voltage input has a nominal rating of 240 VDC and supports a measuring and self-powered operating range of 100 to 400 VDC. Current measurement is performed through external Hall-effect sensors. Available Split-Core Hall-effect sensor ratings include 20 A, 50 A, 100 A, 400 A, 600 A and 1000 A, while a 100 A Solid-Core Hall-effect sensor is also supported. The ±4 V sensor output enables bidirectional current measurement, making the meter suitable for systems with both charging and discharging power flows.
The meter achieves voltage accuracy of ±0.5%, current accuracy of ±0.5% plus the Hall-effect sensor error, and active power accuracy of ±1.0%. Active energy measurement complies with IEC 62053-41:2021 Class 1, making the PMC-352-D suitable for industrial and commercial DC energy monitoring, internal cost allocation and energy-efficiency analysis.
For equipment condition monitoring, the PMC-352-D includes four two-wire NTC temperature inputs with a measurement range from −20°C to +140°C. These inputs can be used to monitor the temperature of busbars, cables, connectors, batteries, charging modules and other electrical equipment. Temperature measurement accuracy is ±1°C, while the required NTC sensors are supplied separately.
Three standard digital inputs support 240 VDC externally excited signals and can be used for equipment status monitoring, alarm input detection or external contact monitoring. The inputs provide a 1000 Hz sampling rate and a minimum hysteresis time of 1 ms, enabling rapid detection of operating-state changes.
An optional residual-current input can be configured for 10 mA or 50 mA Hall-effect residual-current sensors. This option allows the meter to monitor DC leakage or residual current over a range of 0% to 120% of the sensor’s nominal input, supporting enhanced electrical safety and equipment-condition monitoring.
The PMC-352-D provides ten user-programmable setpoints with configurable thresholds and time delays. Setpoints can monitor current, individual and total active power, temperature, residual current and demand parameters. The built-in SOE log stores up to 16 events with ±1 ms timestamp resolution, including configuration changes, setpoint alarms, digital input status changes and record-clearing operations.
A standard optically isolated RS-485 port supports the Modbus RTU protocol with selectable communication speeds from 1,200 to 38,400 bps. This allows the meter to be integrated with CET PecStar iEMS, PMC EasyConfig, SCADA platforms, industrial automation systems and third-party DC energy management systems.
