The PMC-340-A6 Digital Three-Phase Energy Meter is a compact and advanced metering device developed for industrial, commercial, utility and building energy management applications. It features a large backlit LCD display, DIN rail mounting and multifunction true RMS measurement, providing convenient local data viewing, configuration and system integration.
The meter is available with a 10 A nominal and 100 A maximum direct-connected current input, eliminating the need for external current transformers in high-current applications. A 1 A nominal and 10 A maximum CT input version is also available for conventional transformer-operated metering systems. Its voltage input supports 110–240 V line-to-neutral and 190–415 V line-to-line systems, with a self-powered operating range of 88–276 VAC.
The PMC-340-A6 measures phase and line voltage, current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, frequency and calculated neutral current. It also provides imported, exported, total and net active and reactive energy, apparent energy and four-quadrant reactive energy measurements. Voltage and current accuracy is ±0.2%, while active energy accuracy reaches Class 0.5 for direct-connected input and Class 0.5S for CT input.
Advanced power quality functions include voltage and current THD, TOHD, TEHD, individual harmonics up to the 31st order, voltage and current unbalance, current K-factor, crest factor and TDD analysis. The meter also supports demand and maximum demand monitoring for current, power, voltage and temperature parameters.
For multi-tariff energy management, the device provides two programmable TOU schedules, 12 seasons, 20 daily profiles, 14 periods per profile, 90 holidays or alternate days and five tariffs. It also stores 12 months of energy records and supports imported and exported energy and maximum demand records for each tariff.
The built-in 16 MB non-volatile memory supports two configurable data recorder logs, each capable of recording up to 16 parameters. Recording intervals can be configured from one second to 40 days, while the SOE log stores up to 128 events with ±1 ms timestamp resolution. Twenty programmable setpoints are provided for voltage, current, power, temperature and digital input monitoring.
A standard optically isolated RS-485 port supports Modbus RTU communication at baud rates from 1,200 to 38,400 bps. Depending on the selected I/O configuration, the meter can include one solid-state energy pulse output, one self-excited digital input, or both. The digital input can be used for status monitoring, WAGES pulse counting and external tamper alarm detection.
