The PMC-340 Digital Three-Phase Energy Meter is designed for industrial, commercial, utility and building energy management applications. It combines high-accuracy three-phase metering, a large LCD display and tool-free DIN rail mounting in a compact enclosure, making it suitable for both new installations and electrical system upgrades. The meter is self-powered from the three-phase voltage input and does not require a separate auxiliary power supply.
The PMC-340 is available with either a 20 A nominal/100 A maximum direct-connected current input or a 5 A nominal/6 A maximum CT input. It supports 220 V, 230 V or 240 V line-to-neutral input configurations with a self-powered operating range of 168–264 VAC. The direct-input version complies with IEC 62053-21:2020 Class 0.5 active energy accuracy, while the CT-input version complies with IEC 62053-22:2020 Class 0.5S.
The meter provides multifunction true RMS measurements of voltage, current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, phase angle and frequency. It measures imported, exported, total and net active and reactive energy, apparent energy and four-quadrant reactive energy. Voltage and current measurement accuracy reaches ±0.2%, while power measurement accuracy is ±0.5%.
Integrated power quality functions include voltage and current THD, TOHD, TEHD, individual harmonics up to the 31st order, voltage and current unbalance, current K-factor, crest factor and total demand distortion. The meter also monitors phase current demand and total active, reactive and apparent power demand, together with maximum demand and maximum/minimum records.
For multi-tariff energy management, the PMC-340 provides two programmable TOU schedules. Each schedule supports 12 seasons, 20 daily profiles, 12 periods per profile, 90 holidays or alternate days and four tariffs. It also stores 12 months of active, reactive and apparent energy records, including energy and maximum demand information for individual tariffs.
The advanced PMC-340-B version provides three digital inputs for external status monitoring, tariff switching or WAGES pulse counting. It also includes 2 MB of log memory, a data recorder for 16 measurements, and 16 SOE events with 1 ms timestamp resolution. The data recorder can store approximately 197 days of measurements at a 10-minute recording interval.
A standard optically isolated RS-485 port supports the Modbus RTU protocol at baud rates from 1,200 to 19,200 bps. The meter also includes a front-panel energy pulse LED and one selectable solid-state kWh or kvarh pulse output, enabling straightforward integration with SCADA, building automation, factory automation and power and energy management systems.
